We've all seen what happens when tanning goes wrong
So here are our top tips on getting that perfect streak free tan everytime.
Shave or Wax
Remove any unwanted hair 24 to 48 hours before tanning. This allows time for your skin to calm down and the pores to close.
If you want a long lasting even tan, I can not emphasize enough the need to exfoliate 24 hours prior to applying your tan. So get srubbing, and pay particular attention to your knees, elbows, ankles and anywhere you have dry skin. Follow up with an all over body moisturiser.
Be sure your skin is clean and dry, no make up, deoderant, perfume or moisturiser on tanning day. These products can inhibit your tan from developing correctly, giving a streaky or uneven look. Nobody wants that, am I right!
Using a tanning mitt apply your tan in long sweeping motions making sure the whole area is evenly covered, wait a minute or two before dressing in loose fitting clothes and allow your tan to develop for the next 3 to 8 hours.
3 hours will give a light natural tan, if you would like a darker tan, leave on for at least 6 hours.
Try to stay cool while you have your tanning mousse on.
After your desired development time has passed, wash your tan off with just water, no soap and allow to develop for the next 12 hours.
Be sure to moisturise regularly to keep your tan looking fresh for longer.
Do it all again next week!
